3. Diary Entry
A diary entry is a personal record
of events, thoughts, and reflections written by an individual, typically on a
daily basis. It often includes details about daily activities, emotions,
thoughts, and observations. Here’s a simple structure for writing a diary
entry:
1.
Date: Start with the date at the top.
2.
Greeting: Optional, but some people like to start with a greeting,
like "Dear Diary."
3.
Content:
o
Events: Describe what happened during the day.
o
Thoughts and
Feelings: Share your emotions and thoughts
about the events.
o
Reflections: Reflect on any lessons learned or thoughts for the future.
4.
Closing: Some people sign off with their name or a closing
statement.
Here’s an example of a diary entry:
August 2, 2024
Dear Diary,
Today was a wonderful day! I started
my morning with a jog in the park, and the weather was perfect—sunny but with a
cool breeze. At work, I finally finished the project I’ve been working on for
weeks, and my boss was really pleased with the result.
I felt really accomplished and
relieved to have it done. In the evening, I cooked a new recipe for dinner:
lemon herb chicken. It turned out delicious, and I’m proud of how it came
together.
Reflecting on today, I realize how
important it is to take breaks and enjoy small moments, like my morning jog and
cooking dinner. I’m looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.
Goodnight!

1. Write a diary
entry on one of the luxurious weddings that you have attended.
July
15, 2023
Dear
Diary,
Today,
I went to the most luxurious wedding I've ever seen, and it was absolutely
beautiful! It was held at a fancy estate with perfectly trimmed gardens and
fountains all around.
The
ceremony was outdoors under a huge archway covered in flowers. The bride walked
down the aisle in a gorgeous designer dress with sparkling details and a long
veil. The groom looked great too in his well-fitted tuxedo. Their vows were so
heartfelt and moving that everyone got emotional.
After
the ceremony, we went to the reception area, which was even more amazing.
Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, giving the room a warm, golden glow.
Each table had elaborate flower arrangements with roses, peonies, and orchids.
The place settings were elegant, with fine china and polished silverware.
The
food was incredible! We started with gourmet appetizers, followed by a
five-course meal. My favorites were the lobster bisque, the perfectly cooked
filet mignon, and the delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. There was also a
wide selection of wines and champagne throughout the evening.
The
entertainment was excellent too. A live band played a mix of jazz and modern
songs, keeping everyone dancing. The couple's first dance was magical, and soon
the dance floor was packed with guests having a great time.
One
of the most memorable parts of the night was the fireworks display that lit up
the sky. It was synchronized with music and absolutely stunning, ending the
evening on a high note.
Thinking
back on today, I am reminded of the beauty of love and the joy of celebrating
such a special occasion. It was a night full of laughter, love, and wonderful
memories. I feel so lucky to have been a part of it.
Goodnight!

2. Write a diary
entry describing the horrible experience that you had when your mobile phone
was stolen during a bus journey.
August
2, 2024
Dear
Diary,
Today
was a rough day. My mobile phone was stolen while I was on the bus, and it was
a horrible experience.
I
was on my way to work, and the bus was crowded as usual. I had my phone in my
hand, listening to music and scrolling through social media. Everything seemed
normal until I felt a sudden jostle. At first, I thought it was just the usual
bumpiness of the bus ride, but then I noticed my phone was gone.
Panic
set in immediately. I looked around, hoping maybe I had dropped it or someone
had seen what happened, but no luck. I asked the people around me if they had
seen anything, but no one had. I felt so helpless and frustrated.
I
tried to stay calm and think of what to do next. I borrowed a kind stranger’s
phone and called my own number, but it went straight to voicemail. That’s when
I realized whoever took it had already turned it off. I felt a wave of anger
and sadness wash over me. All my contacts, photos, and important information
were on that phone.
When
I finally got to work, I used a colleague’s phone to contact my service
provider and report the theft. They were helpful, but it didn’t make me feel
any better about losing something so important. I also had to change all my
passwords and notify my friends and family.
The
whole day, I felt unsettled and distracted. It’s amazing how much we rely on
our phones for everything. Not having it made me feel disconnected and anxious.
Reflecting
on today, I’m reminded of how vulnerable we can be and how important it is to
be vigilant, especially in crowded places. I’m trying to focus on the
positives—at least I wasn’t hurt, and I can replace the phone. But it’s hard to
shake off the feeling of violation and loss.
Hoping
for a better day tomorrow.
Goodnight,
Anuska
3. Write a diary
entry describing your first-day experience in your new school.
August
2, 2024
Dear
Diary,
Today
was my first day at my new school. I was really excited to go but also a bit
nervous. The school is huge and has a very attractive look. My classroom is
spacious and equipped with ICT tools. The whole school premises is neat and
clean.
Since
it was my first day, I wanted to make a good impression on my teachers and
classmates. So, I sat in the front row. During the class, I had to introduce
myself, which made me feel a bit embarrassed, but I managed to give a short introduction
about myself. After that, a girl named Binisha came up to me and asked where I
lived and where I was from. Our conversation felt a bit like an interview, but
it was also comfortable.
Binisha
then gave me a tour of the school, and I enjoyed it a lot. For now, I consider
Binisha my best friend at school. Overall, my first day at the new school was
interesting and positive.
I'm
looking forward to tomorrow. Wishing myself good luck!
Goodnight,
my dear diary.
